We started our morning early since we all crashed by 8:00p from our exhausting hike into Supai the day before. It also rained overnight, and it was so soothing. We kicked off our morning with coffee and breakfast, and then immediately went for our hike to Mooney Falls & Beaver Falls!

We started our descent down to Mooney Falls first, which was roughly 2 miles from our campground. And boy, did this felt more like an obstacle course than a hike! We went through caves and down vertical ladders to get to the bottom of Mooney Falls. Not required, but definitely recommend some beater gloves for the rocks, chains, rungs, and wooden ladders. Unfortunately, someone in our group did get a cut from this hike without it.

We stayed here for just a short bit for photos. Once we saw more people rolling in, we immediately moved on to Beaver Falls, which was another 3 miles.

After a total of 5 miles, 3 river crossings, and trekking through fields of green — we finally arrived at Beaver Falls! To be honest, the views were so amazing and utterly breathtaking that it didn’t even feel like 5 miles. Who would’ve ever thought that you would find such lushes of green in a canyon, and nonetheless in Grand Canyon! With that said, it was still very hot and between yesterday’s 12-miler and today’s 5-miler, we were definitely due for a shower, and what is a better way to “shower” than taking a swim in Beaver Falls?

Of course if one must descend, in order to go back, one must ascend as well. The ascend back was a little trickier since people were climbing back up with wet gears. This made the ladders very slippery, but with a little caution, it is very manageable! Once we got back, we had dinner and immediately hit the sack as rain was in the forecast starting at 8:00p for our 2nd night as well.
