Over the years, I have been slowly upgrading my camping gears to be lighter and more durable as an encouragement for myself to go backpacking one day. When my friends was able to get a reservation at Havasupai Indian Reservations – I was so ready to go!
When you think about hiking, we always ask ourselves a few questions: How far are we hiking? How long will it take? What is the weather like? How much water do we need to bring?
We came across so many different terrains — snow, rocks, sand, and water. It felt like we were walking through moon, mars, and then back on earth again!
Due to the rain, we didn't hike at this canyon, and opted to cruise to the peak and back down – stopping along all the point of interests.
We were able to visit 3 of 4 National Parks located on the Big Island: Hawai'i Volcanoes, Pu`uhonua O Hōnaunau, and Pu`ukoholā Heiau!
