Last Stop: Maui

February 15-19, 2019 | Brian & Vanessa

Maui, all-in-all, was quite an adventure from the get go. Our trip here started off with a double rainbow, car burning down outside of the airport, a 5-miler to get food, and then picked up our rental – a brand new Kia Soul!

Visited Points of Interests

We jumped right in and started our adventure at a (much delayed) take off for Road to Hana! I mean, we even sat down for brunch to play Pokemon Go 😅

We didn’t find Road to Hana as enjoyable as many folks did. The sights were nice, but the drive was quite brutal. We didn’t expect so many twist and turns! And since we started late, we had to straight-haul it going back home. All the twisting and turning gave us a headache, and got Brian really nauseous. We were really worried that we won’t be able to do Haleakalā the next day, but luckily after a lot of sleep and water, he recovered in time.

Haleakalā National Park

Seven Sacred Pools

This was at the end of Road to Hana, and since we got there late, we didn’t have time to actually hike and see all of Seven Sacred Pools. Good and bad:

  • Bad – We didn’t get to hike the and see the Seven Sacred Pools due to time restriction, unknown length of the hike, and clearly the lack of preparation.
  • Good – Because we got there late, we didn’t need the NP pass to get in (we forgot it!) and got to park the car for free. We still got to see parts of the Seven Sacred Pools.

Scenic Views

(1) Baldwin Beach Park (2) Bamboo Forest (3) Hana Bay Beach Park
(4) Waianapanapa State Park (5) Acid War Zone Trailhead (6) Nakalele Blowhole

A Taste of Maui

Mama Fish House

This was a highly recommended restaurant for us. We had to make advance reservation, but good thing on a rainy night where this was on the way home for us, they were able to squeeze us in. The food here, as everyone has mentioned, is amazing! It is definitely worth a trip here, but to come here again – debatable since it can get quite costly!

And that’s a wrap on our Hawaii trip!

We hope you guys enjoyed traveling with us through our pictures and experiences. Please feel free to message us for any tips and advice on any of the adventure we went on – they can go a long way!
